News Update: Attack of the Killer News Update

Over at ComicBookMovie.com, a contributor has put together a fancast for a hypothetical Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD movie set during the late 1960s. The fancast doesn't break a lot of new ground, but there are a few solid ideas in there. For one thing, a movieverse take on Jake Fury would be pretty damn cool.

Some gorgeous promotional artwork has been released for the upcoming Avengers movie comic book tie-in. This time, the whole team's on deck (literally -- this is the helicarrier we're talking about), though there's a Fury-centric image tucked in there as well. I have to admit, I'm liking the new uniform.

FlavorWire.com recently posted In Defense of the New Spider-Man: 10 Great Superheroes of Color. Unsurprisingly, Ultimate Nick Fury is first on that list.

Okay, so I don't know much about the upcoming Wolverine: Debt of Death, but these preview pages from iFanboy.com have me sold. I think iFanboy's blurb says it best: "Wolverine and Nick Fury do their thing and some giant robots don't stand a chance. Your eyes melt. You're cool with it." Sounds like a plan.

Wolverine and Nick Fury do their thing

This sounds extremely promising!

Ain't that the truth. Nothing says 'a couple of grouchy old guys cut a swath of unmitigated, badass destruction' like those guys.

Oh, thank you for the links! I somehow missed the solicitations for Wolverine: Debt of Death (and I love Wolverine and Nick teamups!)

*adds it to the list*

I'm pretty sure Wolverine: Debt of Death is out this week, so that's an excuse for me to hit the shops at least. Life's been empty, now that Secret Warriors is over!

This is not really worthy of a post, but it /is/ OT ...

I visited SoCal recently and photographed these:

Mr. Jackson is shown here with Anonymous Giddy Fan *no it's not me* in advertising a place with realistic backdrops/standalones in cardboard so you can get your picture 'taken' with the star. And the Hollywood Walk of Fame has a Star for Mr. Wonderful, Stan Lee.

That's so very, very cool! Oh, Sam Jackson, you are everywhere; also, totally badass, despite the fact that for some reason you're wearing a beret.

I hope you enjoyed your trip!

It was a business trip, but as you can see, I wrung a bit of fun out of it! The cosplayers on Hollywood Blvd. included the usual Spidermen, Michael Jackson, Supermen, etc. plus the odd unique person, dressed up as Anon Dominatrix, etc. It's an eyeopener to visit the blvd.
